Male-Dominated: The Story Of A Woman In Law Enforcement

$15.00

The world of law enforcement has always been described as a boy’s club, but what does that really mean for women who chose to cross the thin blue line? Is there room for women in the brotherhood?

Retired Officer Nenia Corcoran breaks the silence by shining a light on the sexism and sexual harassment that’s ingrained in modern policing. In this unfiltered novel, Corcoran breaks down double standards, unspoken rules, and the frustrating biases that come with wearing a badge.

I am incredibly proud of the ten years I wore a badge. I put everything I had into being the best officer I could be. But no matter how hard I trained, there was one obstacle I could never overcome: my gender.

I never intended to write this book.

I didn't set out with the intention to lash out against the community I once so strongly identified with. I will never speak negatively regarding the thankless and tireless work my brothers and sisters do to keep our streets safe.

The point of this book is to talk about the culture within the thin blue line, and the changes that need to be made within the walls. These pages shine a light on the experiences of a woman attempting to fit into the boys club, when the reality is, the boys club needs to be dismantled.

My hope is that this can be the beginning of a much bigger movement, where the women of law enforcement stop trying to fit in and start taking up their own space. I hope we can start breaking down these male-dominated spaces so that women can confidently walk into them, knowing they belong there just as much as anyone else.

I can’t wait for you to start reading Male-Dominate! I hope you'll let me know what you think with a Goodreads review!
